Christmas is just around the corner, and you’d like to play (bash out?) your favourite Christmas songs. Playing Christmas songs is – or rather can be – a great way to relax coming up to Christmas.
Two pitfalls to potentially be aware of. You may want to avoid – firstly – learning the most intriguing Christmas tune, and secondly – falling back into the same old pieces you feel you’ve been playing for years.
So how can we challenge ourselves a little whilst making it fun and rewarding to learn a new Christmas piece? I think it’s fair to say that many of us may get somewhat caught up in the Christmas planning! For this reason, choosing a piece that is easy to learn and fun to play is ideal.
If you’re not sure where to start, I’d recommend Christmas Carols for Piano, published by Sontig Press this year. Enjoy!
